Globe University Accepts Clothing, Other Donations

by Nora Craven, Librarian, Globe University-Wausau

Have you ever done your fall cleaning and wondered what to do with all the stuff you pulled out of your closets or garage? Or what about all the things your kids outgrew or that gift you got for your birthday that you will NEVER use?

Last year, the Student Ambassador group, in conjunction with the Student Excellence Committee at Globe University-Wausau created an event to resolve those questions, and at the same time, help the members of our own campus community. The Globe Style Garage Sale, or GSGS, was a resounding success and in turn has since become a semi-annual event.

The Wausau Campus Student Ambassador group and the Student Excellence Committee are at it again and will be sponsoring the newly named Globe Style Giveaway, or GSG, Nov. 5-16, 2012.

The Globe Style Giveaway is exactly what the name implies. The donations received from students, staff, faculty and other sources are sorted and organized, and then made available – absolutely free of charge – to everyone in our campus community. Once the giveaway concludes, the remaining items are then donated to a local charity.

This marks the third Globe Style Giveaway, and this quarter’s Giveaway will be bigger and better than ever! In order to make sure that everyone in our campus family will be able to enjoy the upcoming holidays, non-perishable food and new or very gently used toys and stocking stuffers will also be collected.

Donations are now being accepted and are appreciated through November 2. The Globe Style Giveaway begins on Monday, Nov. 5
