Free massage therapy from students at Globe University

As part of their hands-on training, Globe University massage therapy students, under the supervision of faculty, offer free massages to the public. From Swedish to hot stone, you can enjoy a free massage at a campus near you.

Classroom theory applied during massage clinic training includes areas such as anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, professional communication skills, and pathology in massage therapy.

Students practice a variety of massage techniques in the student clinic setting, such as sports massage, myofascial release, Thai, deep tissue/trigger point, craniosacral/lymphatic drainage and pregnancy/special populations massage. Special populations include geriatric and hospice clients.

Career Outlook

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, graduates can go on to pursue self-employment at home or out of home, or work for a variety of settings such as spas, franchised clinics, physicians’ offices, hotels and fitness centers. Other opportunities include traveling to offer massage therapy in clients’ office settings or homes.*

This field is projected to grow 22 percent between 2014 and 2024, which is an increase of 36,500 jobs, with a salary of $18, 860.
