Complete the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Health Fitness Specialist degree—a 2-year program—in 21 months of full-time study. If you have course-equivalent college credits from another school, certification training in exercise science, military training or business experience, you may be eligible for credit for work experience.* Globe University does not charge for evaluating of applying that credit.

Training for the exercise science and health fitness business
At Globe University, we focus on strong career training. After consulting with employers in the fitness industry, we structured our Health Fitness Specialist programs to provide, in addition to rigorous training in exercise science, business and general education courses. As a graduate, you will offer employers a versatile skill set:
- Scientific knowledge of human anatomy , physiology, nutrition, kinesiology and biomechanics
- Technical training in fitness analysis, exercise science, exercise prescription for special populations, exercise physiology, methods in sports training, worksite health promotion, child fitness
- Business skills, including business communications, Microsoft Office Pro, introduction to business, supervisory management, marketing, sales management, small business management
- Critical and analytic skills developed in elective courses in communications, natural science, mathematics, social science and the humanities
- Certifications: All of our graduates are qualified to sit for the Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) exams offered by ACSM and NSCA as well as for NASM and ACE certifications.
Health fitness online v. at a Minnesota campus
Like many of our college programs, the Associate in Health Fitness degree is offered through Globe University Online as well as at various campus locations.
- Our online health fitness programs allow students worldwide to learn from internationally recognized experts. Instruction includes audio clinics, webinars and online videos. Students work closely with instructors via email and IM and participate in externships supervised by qualified specialists.
- On-campus health fitness programs are available at some Minnesota campuses, including several in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area. Students work in on-campus fitness labs in and complete externships with area employers.
