The Master’s in Management degree program combines general leadership concepts with industry-specific topics. Students in the Information Technology emphasis complete graduate courses that cover the following IT issues:
- IT personnel management
- Project management
- IT security management
- Ethical issues in technology
- Applications of information systems management
Graduates are prepared for management positions in a broad range of organizations. Employers include corporate IS and IT departments, government agencies, not-for-profit organizations, technology service providers and entrepreneurial ventures.
Credit for professional training and experience, transfer credit
Globe University has a generous credit equivalency policy. Course-equivalent technology training, certifications, project management experience, relevant military training and transfer credits from other institutions can be used to fulfill up to 50% of program requirements. Unlike most other institutions, Globe does not charge for evaluation of those experiences or for credit granted.
Master’s degree for international IT students
The Globe University Master of Science in Management: Information Technology program offers unique benefits for international students:
- International student services support MSM:IT students from the time they inquire about the program through the course of their U.S. studies.
- A student can enter the program at many points during the year—every four to six weeks. This flexibility allows the student to enter the U.S. shortly after visa approval.
- The program emphasizes practical application of leadership concepts in a technology environment, requiring students to hold professional employment throughout the course of the program. An international student may be eligible for a work authorization from the first quarter of classes in the U.S.

The MSM: Information Technology and the MBA
The Master of Science in Management: Information Technology degree and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree programs have some similarities, but distinct differences. An IT professional should consider the following when choosing a program:
- The student may receive more credit for work experience toward the MSM: Information Technology than toward the MBA degree.
- The MSM program includes IT-specific coursework in personnel management, security management, ethic and administration.
- The MBA program is an excellent choice for a student whose goal is acquire business skills to manage an entrepreneurial or established IT-related enterprise. Studies include all areas of business administration, including marketing.
