MS: information technology vs. the MBA
Objective: The MBA program and the MS: IT program both provide management skills that can be applied in many types of organizations and entrepreneurial ventures. The master’s of management IT emphasis includes coursework specific to computing services, while the MBA provides general business training.
Admission: Graduate admission decisions are made on the basis of several variables and after an interview with the program dean. An applicant eligible for the MS: IT program will have a bachelor’s degree and professional experience in a related field. The MBA program has no specific experience requirement, and an applicant may have a bachelor’s degree in any area of study.
