Massage Therapy Graduate Received the Support She Needed at Globe University

After attending a community college and realizing she wanted a more personal education, Alisha Bilek enrolled in the massage therapy diploma program at Globe University-Woodbury.

“I chose to attend Globe University because the class sizes were smaller, and I wanted to have more one-on-one with the instructors,” explains Alisha. “The faculty and instructors were always there to help the students.”

Alisha says the support she received from her instructors was crucial to her success.

“I am very thankful to the instructors that I had during my program. Each and every one never gave up on me, and believed in me that I could in fact complete the assignments and graduate,” she explains. “If there ever were any questions or problems, they were always there to help, even after the classes had ended.”

In addition to the helpful instructors, Alisha says she enjoyed the hands-on training and the fact that her courses prepared her for a future career in massage therapy.

“By learning a wide range of modalities, I feel confident in the massages that I perform,” says Alisha. “I have not only built up my confidence in myself, but I feel I have grown up in a sense and am ready to enter the professional world.”

The confidence Alisha has gained is especially important in helping her reach her personal and professional goals.

“I have been through many struggles in life,” she says. “I have a young daughter that has helped me grow to be an amazing mother and adult. Without her or family and friends I would not have been able to make it where I am today.”

That support also helped get Alisha hired a month before she graduated.

“I recently accepted a position as a massage therapist at Massage Envy in Vadnais Heights, [Minn.],” Alisha says. “I couldn’t be more excited about starting my new career.”

With her new position, Alisha says she wants to give back by doing what she loves.

“[I’m passionate about] helping others in any way I can be of service,” she says. “Seeing someone smile or laugh is the best satisfaction to me.”
