For more than 130 years, Globe University has focused on career education and student success. In 2000, when we expanded our offerings to include online degree programs, we recognized that the distance learning environment presents unique challenges to students. To help online students succeed, we provide them with resources specifically designed to help them accomplish their educational goals.

Online Programs Available

Globe University offers online degree programs in business, health science, information technology and legal science, leading to Master of Business Administration (MBA), bachelor of science (BS) and associate in applied science (AAS) degrees and technical diplomas. Please call 877-609-8889 or e-mail us for detailed program information. Below are brief program summaries:

Online business and accounting degree programs

Accounting: BS, AAS, Technical Diploma

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting: graduates of this program are prepared to take the Minnesota Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam
  • Associate in Applied Science in Management Accounting: excellent preparation for entry-level positions in accounting, including account payable/receivable, payroll and bookkeeping
  • Associate in Applied Science in Accounting and Tax Specialist: training and certifications prepare graduates to work in corporate tax departments and for self-employment in tax preparation and advising to small businesses and individuals
  • Accounting Diploma: an excellent program for the individual who wants to begin working in the field as quickly as possible

MBA degree program: designed for working professionals, this Master of Business Administration program emphasizes the application and assessment of leadership principles in the workplace; credit for work experience and previous training may be granted, international students are welcome

Business Administration: BS, AAS, diploma

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: the degree most-requested by corporate employers, the bachelor's in business administration provides a study of business fundamentals with a practical emphasis 
  • Associate in Applied Science in Business Administration: graduates are prepared for entry-level employment in corporations, government agencies and non-profit organizations as well as for success as small business owners
  • Business Administrative Assistant Diploma: training in office procedures, technology and general principles

Business Management: BS

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management: preparing a student for employment in a specific industry or sector of the business community, offering emphases in Finance, Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Marketing and Agriculture

Cosmetology Business: AAS, an associate degree program that prepares licensed cosmetologists for salon management or ownership

Media Business: BS, a 2 + 2 program with an entrance requirement of an associate degree in an area of creative technology such as audio production, communications, graphic design or video graphics; providing students with business, technical and general coursework that prepares them to succeed as independent consultants and managers of corporate media operations

Sales and Marketing: AAS, an associate degree program focused on the persuasive, management and analytical skills that drive every sales department and marketing initiative

Transportation Business: AAS, an associate degree program that prepares CDL drivers for management responsibilities and small business ownership

Online health care management degree program

Health Care Management: BS, a bachelor's degree program that focuses on knowledge and analytical and communication skills necessary for administrators and managers in corporations, government agencies, not-for-profit organizations and other organizations involved in health care

Information Technology Online degree programs

Information Technology: BS, AAS

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, emphasizing the role of the IT professional in the modern corporation, offering students several options, including focuses in Networking and Security and Business Application Programming
  • Associate in Applied Science in Information Technology, listed by the US Departement of Labor as one of the most valuable associate degrees, the IT AAS can be earned in as little as six quarters, offering qualified students credit for work experience and industry certifications, preparing students for careers in network support or software development

Legal science degree programs

Criminal Justice: AAS, an associate degree program taught by experienced members of the criminal justice program, preparing students for exciting careers in law enforcement, the court system, corrections or private security

Paralegal: BS, AAS

  • Bachelor of Science in Paralegal, a program that incorporates extensive hands-on training in drafting legal documents, interviewing clients and other responsibilities of the paralegal, the bachelor's degree that legal employers prefer
  • Associate in Applied Science in Paralegal, a two-year program that provides training in legal studies, computer skills, communications and legal office procedures, all credits transfer smoothly to the bachelor's in paralegal program

How we support you in your online studies

Whether you plan on completing an MBA, bachelor’s or associate degree entirely online, or you will be combining online and classroom coursework to complete your program, online learning will be challenging. We are committed to helping you succeed, and include special features in our distance learning program to make that happen:

Orientation to online classes: Before you log in to your online class for the first time, you will complete an online orientation and learn everything you need to know for your first class.

Blackboard: This is the web-based system you will use to interact with other students and your instructors. Sign on to Blackboard to get lectures and assignments from your instructors, and then review them when the timing is right for you. Experience the online class environment now by clicking on Blackboard Academic Suite to view one of our sample courses. (Note: The username and password are both guguest)

Discussion Boards: Have a question about an assignment? Want to share your comments with classmates? Discussion boards and instant messaging tools will allow you to do just that and are accessible through Blackboard.

Learning Resources: Sometimes, the Internet alone simply isn’t enough. To make sure you find the right information you need, you’ll have access to our vast online library and many other academic web resources.

A wealth of shared resources

Globe University and Minnesota School of Business work cooperatively onbehalf of students, offering many identicaldegree and diploma programs. Both schools are members of Globe Education Network, a consortium of career colleges. Other member schools include Utah Career College, Duluth Business University, Institute for Production and Recording and Minnesota School of Cosmetology. As a student of Globe University Online, you will be able to transfer equivalent coursework from member schools into your degree program.
