How Accreditation is Determined

Accredited institutions voluntarily commit to continuous improvement and accountability, periodic peer review, and meeting or exceeding criteria established by their accrediting agency. For accredited institutions offering online programs, like Globe University, the accreditation process includes a thorough review of institution’s ability to deliver a high-quality and rigorous educational experience via distance education.

Evaluating a College’s Accreditation

It is vital that an online school’s accreditation be issued by an organization listed by the U.S. Department of Education as an authority on higher education.

Such accreditation is required if students are to receive federal financial aid. Only a few organizations, including ACICS, make that list.

There is some confusion about the distinction between regional and national accreditation. The Department of Education makes it clear that one is not better than the other.

Globe University chose national accreditation, a process that aligns closely with our career-focused mission and our historic business school status.

Every school within the Globe Education Network is accredited by a national accrediting body that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Accreditation Standards

Accredited institutions, like the schools within the Globe Education Network, are all held to strict national standards of quality to ensure that students are provided with the highest level of curricula, instruction and educational opportunities. In order to retain accreditation, institutions must also maintain strict student retention levels and career-placement rates to ensure that graduates are well prepared to enter the workforce.

Graduating from institutions whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education often is a requirement for employment. Additionally, students who attend these institutions are eligible for federal loan and grant programs that provide financial aid to students.

Students throughout the Globe Education Network of colleges have access to the highest level of instruction and curricula to ensure exceptional educational and professional opportunities.
